Emerging in London\u2019s Finsbury Park in 2010, Tagging Robot is a mural offering an ironic critique of automation and consumer culture.

The artwork depicts a childlike robot holding a spray can. The spray can symbolizes rebellion and individual expression through graffiti. The robot paints a barcode, representing how consumer culture reduces individual identities to mere \u201cproducts.\u201d The barcode symbolizes how, in the modern world, people are seen solely as consumers and how technology restricts personal freedoms. It also critiques how automation overtakes human agency, replacing individual expression with mechanical processes. The robot\u2019s childlike form evokes innocence, while a machine engaging in graffiti ironically reflects technology\u2019s dual nature\u2014both creative and destructive. The piece draws attention as a symbol of modern consumer culture, blending innocence with rebellion.
