Who is Banksy?

Banksy is the world’s most famous yet still mysterious street artist. Born in Bristol and estimated to be between 40 and 45 years old, his true identity remains unknown. Despite this secrecy, Banksy is one of the most expensive artists.

In 2010, Time Magazine included him in its list of the 100 most influential people in the world, alongside Barack Obama, Steve Jobs, and Lady Gaga.

Through his art, Banksy questions how economic and political interests suppress the common good while bringing modern society’s problems to the forefront. He highlights consumer culture, war, and power dynamics, using metaphorical, humorous, provocative, and visually striking imagery to create social awareness.
